So in honor of the release of TFiOS, my friends Natalia and Rachel and I went to our local Barnes and Noble to go Hanklerfishing. This is what I realized while I was there.

How Normal People spend their time at bookstores:

95% browsing and/or searching for a specific book.

5% checking out.

How Nerdfighters spend their time at bookstores:

5% browsing and/or searching for a specific book.

5% checking out.

90% searching for book titles that make good In Your Pants jokes.

Early this morning, I learned that BN.com had accidentally shipped out The Fault in Our Stars, which will be published on January 10th, to many people who’d preordered the book. Although efforts are being made to stop shipments wherever possible, some of these people will likely receive the book…
